Do you think Sidney Crosby will ever play for the Montreal Canadiens?

Maybe someday he will but He belongs in Pittsburgh best off there.

Crosby really has no burning desire to head to hockey hotbeds Montreal or Toronto, either. Sid the Kid from Nova Scotia is quite happy in Pittsburgh, and might be content to grow up there for many years.

“It depends on the person and the personality, what you want and what’s important to you,” the 21-year-old Penguins captain said. “I live a pretty simple life. I want to play somewhere people are interested in the sport and for an organization that cares. I’ve got a lot of that in Pittsburgh. I feel pretty fortunate to be there. It’s not the biggest city, but it’s a city I really like.”

Crosby won’t be faced with a decision until at least after the 2012-13 season upon the expiration of his current contract, a five-year extension signed in 2007.

Already the face of the NHL with endorsement deals with Reebok and others well in hand, Crosby doesn’t need to head to Madison Avenue to increase his exposure. He can pick the place that makes him the happiest and gives him the best chance to win the Stanley Cup.

“Hockey is my focus,” Crosby said. “If the opportunity comes and it fits, great, but I’m not setting myself up in a place because of the marketing opportunities. I want to play in the best environment hockey-wise and I feel like I have that in Pittsburgh.”

It’s possible. However being a kid who wants to play for the Habs is a lot different from being a adult who understands the pressure Habs players are under.

I think crosby will stay in pittsburgh at least for another 5years but when it will come down to having a salary cap problem and they will have one one-day they will have to choice crosby or malkin and then and only then maybe crosby will come to montreal if pitts want to give him to montreal and only if habs give someone good in return

I certainly wouldn’t object to having a player of Sid’s calibre on the Habs, a team I have supported for many years. Whether if it happens or not remains to be seen.

Montreal was so close to having Sydney Crosby on their team during the picks! It is possible though for him to come to Montreal. Like you said he is a huge Montreal fan so that would have been awesome if MTL did get him. No one really knows for sure, but i can see it happen. Have faith!

Sidney Crosby is a UFA in 2013. At thet time anything can happen.

Pittsburgh still has Sidney Crosby for a long time. I’d rather start to think about it then.

But while we’re on the topic now:
Crosby will most likely become a Mario Lemieux when Mario is not alive. He’ll most likely take over the team and become the chairman and such too. I honestly don’t think he’s going anywhere.

I believe that Sidney will stay with the Pens until he retires. Yes, he WAS a big fan of the Habs when he was a kid and his father was even a goalie for them at one point, but his heart is in Pittsburgh. There’s no question about that.
